Unaccounted for Water and the Value of Leak Detection

One of the most important tasks is fixing leaks that can disrupt or reduce the pressure of water reaching your home or business. Sometimes these leaks are small like a running toilet or pinhole leak in a water line and won’t disrupt the supply. Others are large and can often lead to large sinkholes, significant water losses, and the disruption of service. These large leaks often surface quickly or are identified by service disruption and are fixed quickly. While small leaks might not seem important, over time they grow to be large leaks and cause significant damage if not fixed.

Water Leak Detection

Water Leak Detection remains our core service.  AWWA estimates Non-revenue water nationwide is 30%.  Of that, 50-75% can be recovered with leak detection.

A leak detection program establishes System Integrity – One of the quickest ways to find out about the general condition of your distribution system is to do a leak detection project.    In addition to locating non-revenue water, a leak survey can also be a way of finding out more about the overall integrity of your system.

Leak Detection can also be part of a valve maintenance program.  Although USA doesn't clean out and operate the valves, we can identify which ones have packing leaks, which ones are missing lids, which ones are not on maps, which hydrants have been hit or which zone valves are leaking by.

We have many repeat clients, which include municipalities, government agencies, and engineering firms.

COMMERCIAL SERVICES

Client Testimonials

"We have used Utility Services Associates for a number of years. However, after trying a few other leak detection companies on and off here in the Southeast, we keep coming back to Utility Services because they are always the most successful in helping us control our non-revenue water. We will be expanding our surveying efforts and using only Utility Services Associates."

Scott Stokes, PWD

Smyrna, GA

"We appreciated both the classroom training and hands-on field exercises which have given much needed experience and instruction to our utility workers. Your personable teaching techniques were well received by our employees and we especially benefited form the hours of hands-on training with the equipment in the field. In fact, as you know, during your visit, several costly water leaks were located and have been repaired, saving the loss of tens of thousands of gallons per month."

Greg Burkett, Training Coordinator
